1993 Mumbai Blast Convict Yakub Memon Hanged to Death Today

After a strenuous night with unprecedented legal developments, the Supreme Court seems to have showed no favour to Yakub Memon's appeal against death sentence. He is hanged to death   at 7.35 am on 30th July, which is unfortunately his 53rd birth anniversary.

Memon was declared dead at 7.01 am.

Yakub Memon, the chartered accountant by profession was one of major convict of the  serial  bomb blasts  in Mumbai in  1993.Theprime  convicts, Tiger Memon, Yakub's  brother and  Dawood Ibrahim are still beyond the reach of Interpol. Yakoob was allegedly suspected to have financed the entire project that is carried out in Mumbai, just 3 months after the destruction of Babri Masjid. The blast

The 1993 serial bomb blasts, carried out three months after the destruction of the Babri Masjid in December, 1992. The Mumbai serial blasts reportedly have claimed the lives of 257 people while creating an international terror by its very atrocity.

On the wake of 30th July, 2015, security across Maharashtra has been strengthened even more, so that it becomes easier to counter any violent outburst in the capital city.  Special security force has been appointed around the Nagpur jail to deal with any counter attack during the execution.

After the doctor declared him death at 7.01 am, his body is handed over to the family  with the three conditions that no public procession will be conducted or encouraged, funeral in a timely manner will be treated with priority, no public release of the photograph will be allowed on anyone's part.

The Week-Long Legal Battle Did Not Favour To Dismiss The Death Penalty

Though a pre- dawn session of the Supreme Court was organized with  a  team of  Justices Dipak Misra, Prafulla Chandra Pant and Amitava Roy in order  to re-evaluate the last plea for a 14-day stay on his execution, the team rejected the plea  at 5.00 am.

"Stay of death warrant would be a travesty of justice," said Justice Dipak Misra. However  for Attorney General, Mukul Rohtagi , the decision of not extending the time of the death sentence is not simply about "victory". Instead it's a decision to put an end to the legal process that has been going for years now. Regarding the execution,  Memon's  lawyer has said  "The Supreme Court has made a tragic mistake. I hope Yakub Memon has a dignified death."

Even after exhausting all the legal  remedies, the  mercy  petition of Yakub Memon  seems to bring  no effect during  5 am  today.  The judges panel has  said Memon has got enough time  to   deal with the  legal proceedings  and  resolve the personal affair on the  family front. From government to the  apex court, nowhere the mercy petition  has received a  favorable climate.

The decision creates polarization

However, the verdict seems to have created polarised opinion after it has become apparently clear that Memon has co-operated with Indian intelligence agencies and chose to stay under the protection of the Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan's intelligence agency.

Later, the official of Indian intelligence B. Raman has published a report confirming Yakub's cooperation with police.  In fact, it's been reported that Yakub Memon's s during his tenure in the jail custody has brought evidence which helped India prove Pakistan's involvement in the event.

However, the verdict of the Supreme Court has faced a varied political reactions for and against the death penalty.

The Demise Of A Learner Marks The End Of An Era: RIP APJ Abdul Kalam

He was the one who was enthused with the belief that Government is "of the people, by the people and for the people". For APJ Abdul Kalam, it's the people who have given him the respect, the position and the reverence and made him reach such a height. No wonder, titles like the Eleventh President, DRDO scientist and Bharat Ratna simply existed as nothing but the accolades to his achievements. He was someone who love to exist simply as a human being beyond all the titles.

As he passed away on Monday, 27th July following a cardiac arrest while talking to the students of the Indian Institute of Management, the only thing that seemed to make the nation cry is the void that is being created. He is a legendary example of inspired living who has led a simple life, in spite of having such a sparkling career.
On the evening of 27th July, the nation was simply awestruck, when Kalam breathed his last while talking to the students (something which he loved the most). Referred as India's Missile Man, APJ Abdul Kalam was a quintessence of indomitable spirit. The oddities have never been an obstacle for him. Despite the poverty, education showed him the light of hope. Plunged in the darkness of poverty, Kalam had to face hard times with a sheer spirit, a life-force that never allow him to cease the struggle. To meet the both ends meet, Abdul Kalam had to distribute newspaper to support his family and that's how he used to earn enough to continue with his studies.

After he graduated with Physics, he decided to enrol himself in Aeronautical Engineering to become a pilot. However, the journey for him was differently etched. He became a DRDO scientist and the technical advisor of Prime Minister. Later he became the President of India on 2002 and that's the time, from when Kalam brought Rashtrapati Bhavan at the access of the common people.

A true enthusiast and an optimist till his last day, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam tweeted on Monday "Going to Shillong. To take course on Livable Planet earth at IIM. @APJAbdulKalam."

According to the reports, Kalam breathed his last two hours after he was wheeled into the ICU of Bethany Hospital at 6.30pm. He suffered a massive cardiac arrest during a speech in IIM Shillong. On hearing the news the Meghalaya Governor V Shanmughanathan, rushed to the hospital. However, the great soul could not be revived, despite the best efforts of the medical team formed of celebrated doctors from the Indian Army. Despite medical team best efforts, he could not be revived.

Chief Secretary PBO Warjiri has said that he has taken significant measures after discussing with the Union Home Secretary LC Goyal regarding the necessary arrangements for carrying Kalam's body from Guwahati to Delhi on Tuesday morning.

Following his demise, a even-day national mourning will be declared by the Centre, Union Home Secretary LC Goyal said yesterday to the reporters. Accordingly, both the Houses of Parliament will and make obituary references and adjourn in order to pay homage to his memory.

An aeronautics engineer from Madras Institute of Technology, Kalam has made enormous contribution to the missile programme in India. In fact, the program itself was the brain child of this great man who was then appointed as the Chief Scientific Adviser to Vajpayee. He was also the architect of the Pokhran nuclear test in 1998.

It leaves no doubt that the nation will mourn the demise of APJ Abdul Kalam always.

The Dancing Diva Madhuri - Not Returning For Jhalak Season 8

The celebrity dance show “ Jhalak Dikhla Ja” is all about the dancing diva Madhuri Dixit. At least, till the last season, it was so. But, it’s been reported that the current season won’t see Madhuri Dixit on the judge’s panel. It’s been consecutive three years, the diva has graced the judge’s throne but the eighth season is back with a completely different story. She is not returning this season.

Although the bad terms between Dixit and the show’s producers are making rounds, the diva herself has altogether a different story to tell. According to her, she’s been preparing for another project in the channel and there’s nothing about the declining relationship terms between the 48 year old actress and the show. While speaking about some other project in the channel, Madhuri said that her journey with Jhalak has been a memorable one. She has also added, “I have been on Jhalak for three years now and I am taking a break to focus on other projects. I will be back shortly with probably something even more exciting. I wish Jhalak the very best for a spectacular season. ”

However, in the words of Colors’ of CEO Raj Nayak, “the show will miss her presence but assured fans that she will continue to be a part of the channel”. He has also added, “Madhuri has been the face of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa for years now and we will surely miss her presence and her expertise on the show and we are keen on continuing our relationship with her and our team is exploring a show that will suit her persona. ”.

It’s been reported that the ‘Sahid Kapoor’s name has projected as the most potential replacement to Madhuri on the show, in which it’s all about celebrities , be it the contestants or the judges. Being a dancer of higher standard and finesse, Madhuri has already managaed to successfully rate the contestants. But the question that whether Shahid Kapoor is replacing Madhuri has created quite a stir, mostly because he does not have the experience like Madhuri . Moreover, he is not as graceful as the 48 year old Dancing Diva. So, the organizers are quite apprehensive about the TRP of the show. In this regards, he has said, that the Jhalak team is extremely keen on maintaining a cordial relationship with Madhuri Dixit and will soon come up with a new show that will completely suit her persona..

As mentioned earlier, “Haider” star Shahid Kapoor’s name has been proposed as the possible replacement of Madhuri on the show, but at the same time efforts are being made to allow Dixit resuming her chair once again.Till then, it’s time to see, if Shahid Kapoor is indeed a promising judge to be seated on Madhuri’s Chair on the eighth season of Jhalak Dikhla Ja. So, what are you waiting for? Stay tuned to see, Haider’s a.k.a Shahid Kapoor’s new avatar.

Kedar Jadav Wins Heart Of India On His Maiden Century

Domestic players coming on the spotlight of the international Cricket is nothing new. Examples are plenty in India as well as across the world. But the story of Kedar Jadhav is little different and this devoted fan of Salman Khan did it something in the Dabang format. As he struck his maiden century on the eve of the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare, India got a chance to experience the winning feat.

India-Zimbabwe ODI series has seen the active and winning participation of several debutant cricketers like Jadhav. He joined Manish Pandey, who is also a debutant at the crease after India were reduced to 82 for four. But the man in 30 was ravishing who did everything in a Dabaang style. The moment he caught the reins, it took just 86 balls to reach the milestone. The fantastic, yet unbeaten knock of 105 off 87 balls was studded with 12 fours and a huge six.

The duo made an innings worth watch and remember for a lifetime. It's not simply a match that got its player sweeping centuries within the blink of an eye. The match was a winning sagas of a player, who is a debutant in the international cricket, but played it like the veterans do. As he built the innings with Pandey, the 30 year old debutant went all guns blazing towards the end. And it only spurred him up resulting into a great performance to guide India in the face of 276 for five. Jadhav himself scored a 144-run stand with Manish Pandey and then the duo broke up with the fifth wicket of Manish Pandey. Needless to say, Kedar Jadhav's excellent century saved India from collapsing in the early stage and let it reach a competitive total.

During the partnership Manish Pandey, scored a 71 off 86-balls, thus securing the 12th position among the Indian cricketers to score a fifty on debut. Jadhav, on the other hand had his debut in the international cricket against Sri Lanka in 2014. His outstanding performance back then made his inclusion in the Zimbabwe tour quite likely. However, the senior players opting to take a break made his chance even more obvious.

And, you also need to keep in mind that all days are not same. This is why, perhaps the first two ODIs of the series, could not score Jadhav something worth laudable, but the sweeping century in the third ODI gained him all the spotlight.

PSLV-C28 On July 10, Sets a Landmark In The History Of Indian Space Science

India has stepped  its foot in the universe long back,  but this  time  the  story is  different  and  way bigger than the former achievements. On Monday, India has  successfully launched five foreign satellites from on board PSLV-C23 rocket. This outstanding  achievement of the  space scientists in  India has been described by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an 'endorsement' of the country's exceptional space capabilities.

Earlier Indian Space Research Organization's workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C23, immediately after its perfect lift from the Launch Pad in Satish Dhawan Space Centre has effortlessly placed all five satellites precisely into their pre-determined orbits, in a  succession   and it took just about 17 and 19 minutes after lift-off. The countdown for the launch of ISR0’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C28(PSLV-C28) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at SHAR began at 7.28 am on Wednesday.

Sources said, this time there will be five commercial satellites like DMC3-1, DMC3-2, DMC3-3, each of which will be weighing  447 kg. It's built by the leading Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL), the UK, CBNT-1, and DE-OrbitSail. It's also revealed that the satellites will be launched into a 647 km Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO) only after continuous sixty two hours and a half starting from 9.58 pm on July 10.

The three DCMC-3, optical earth observation satellites were designed by Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL), but the other two auxiliary devices namely CBNT-1 are fabricated by the Surrey Space Centre(SSC All five satellites were weighing about  1,440 kg, which is considered as the heaviest commercial mission ever embarked on by Antrix/ISRO.

It's also said that the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) in its upcoming thirtieth flight (PSLV-C28), will also come up with three identical vehicles named DMC3 optical earth observation satellites.  So far PSLV vehicles has launched various satellites and PSLV-C28 is the ninth flight of PSLV in ‘XL’ configuration.

PSLV is indeed an  excellent venture of the Indian Space scientists. PM Modi is quite hopeful  about the booming future of India's space science in the world.
